In folklore all around Europe, witches are believed to be able to conjure storms. Consequently, these legends tend to appear more often in areas where rainfall is most heavy and dangerous. One of the places in which these legends appear more often in the iberian peninsula are the Pyrenees and Catalunya.
While working alongside Javier Prado on 'Breve viaje por la España de las brujas' and specifically for the chapter on Catalunya, besides visiting the landscape featured in the paiting, I listened A Lot to Antonín Dvořák's New World Symphony. This is what happens when those two concepts are merged. I have had this image stuck in my head ever since.
